so, one of my favourite bands, tokyo police club was playing calgary tonight. to my misfortune, i ended up not going. shit depressing, i know. anyways. a friend of mine had the privilege of attending. i asked him to phone me during one of the songs. he kept his promise. at first, all i heard was rumbling. and screaming fans. and i was praying for some clarity. about 30 seconds in, the song became recognizable: the nature of the experiment. the very first song i've heard by tokyo police club, approximately three years ago, was the first song i've heard them play live. (technically it is live. i just wasn't witnessing it with my eyes, but rather listening with my ears). when i realized the song, i got over-excited. my heart stopped, i started shaking uncontrollably and i did what i obviously had to do. i jumped on my bed and sang along.
