at this time last year, i was attending my new student orientation at mount royal college. i was a first year english student, with ambition, and dreams, and absolutely no idea what those dreams or ambitions were. i chose english because i enjoyed it. english because i didn't want to join the world of math and science. english because i wanted a part in the world of creativity and expression. english because i wanted to write. and a year later, i find myself in the same position: without any post-grad options and a pocket full of doubt. but graduation is still a good 2 years away, and that is plenty of time to think of the distant future. all i want out of this year, is to become a confident english student, who has found her place in writing, has found freedom in writing, and stops holding back in her writing. start small, gain confidence, and become somebody.
